Believe it or not, the rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster is actually real and it's coming soon to PlayStation 5 and PC. The game was spotted on the rating website ESRB, which means the official announcement could be imminent.
Sony are rumoured to be hosting a big State of Play sometime soon so that's probably when we'll learn more about this remaster. Obviously, the reaction to this listing from PlayStation fan is as you'd expect - many are surprised to see that Sony are releasing a remaster version of a game that still looks great to this day, especially on PC.
But Sony are probably counting on players who are yet to play Horizon Zero Dawn and perhaps consider it a bit outdated for a 2024. Also, it's possible that the improvements in the Remastered version won't be that big.
Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the most successeful first-party games from Sony, selling well over 20 milion units. The sequel, Forbidden West was also received well by fans and critics and there are rumours that the third game is already in the works at Guerrilla Games. Not surprising.
What is a bit surprising, at least to those who are not keenly folliowing the gaming industry is the simultanous release of the game on both PC and PS5. Usually, Sony release their first-party titles on PS5 then follow with the PC version several months later but it seems that this time, the game is coming to both platforms at the same time.
Keep in mind that none of this is officially announced yet, so thing could change by the time Sony decide to unveil the remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn.
