Frozen District and Fat Dog Games will release Warlocks 2: God Slayers on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in October 2018, but the exact date has not been provided. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will come later, in Q1 2019.

First thing that will come to mind for every player of Warlocks vs Shadows is that this is a sequel by the same developers who abandoned the original game. The mess surrounding Warlocks vs Shadows is a bit more nuanced, and it appears that the developers don't have access to the original game, as it belongs to the publisher, One More Level. This time around, Frozen District partered up with Fat Dog Games, so the chances of it happening again might be somewhat diminished.

Warlocks 2: God Slayers will be a 2D co-op action RPG done in pixel art, which is something of a fetish on Steam these days, following Dead Cells and a few hundred other games made in the same mould.

The game will feature five playable warlocks, all of whom can be seen at the start of the trailer above. They do not exactly follow the regular fantasy inspired themes though as one of them is a crazed dwarf-centaur and another one is an e-witch who casts spells from her smartphone.

Each warlock will be apparently "deeply customisable" and there will be over 45 abilities to choose from. They range from the standard fantasy ones such as turning enemies into frogs to taking selfies.

Co-op mode will feature up to four players in their pursuit to kill deities around the place, because Kratos made it cool. Well, it's actually because the gods here are corrupted and the warlocks are attempting to save the world, yadda, yadda.
