Fatshark joined the fun during Warhammer Skulls, revealing one of the playable characters in Darktide while moving the pre-launch campaign further.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is set to release on September 13, 2022, but the preorders are live as of June 1, 2022. Preorder bonuses include a cosmetic weapon trinket and a portrait frame but unless you're interested in these additions, we would advise caution as preordering digital goods makes no sense due to the lack of scarcity.

Anway, the preorders were not all the folks at Fatshark revealed during the latest Skulls event. Darktide got a new cinematic trailer that shows brief glimpses of the playable characters in action, with the last one shown being the Psyker.

Given the discrepancy in power between Psykers and Guardsmen in W40K universe, it will be interesting to see how the game will be balanced in order not to make the Psyker overpowered while others would possibly be glorified entourage. Then again, it could be a minor Psyker which would work much better for balance purposes.

The trailer was accompanied by a haunting tune by Jesper Kyd, who previously composed the soundtrack for Vermintide and Vermintide 2. This particular track sounds a lot like a darker take on Paint it Black and feels right at home in the grimdark universe.

In any case, we are roughly three months away from trying to save Tertium with a ragtag band of misfits. Until then, Vermintide is getting a new update on June 14 if you're itching to ruin some forces of Chaos beforehand.
