Neocore Games warned the players to expect a server outage at the beginning of August 2022, due to migration of the game's servers.

Always-online games can be a mess for various reasons - one could have issues with their ISP and get locked out of a game they paid for, for example. Another issue would arise when you are on the move with a laptop or Steam Deck, without WiFi to connect to, resulting in the same problem.

Other times, the game provider runs into service problems and then everyone gets locked out. This is what is going to happen with Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr , come August 1, 2022.

That is the date when Neocore Games will migrate from GameSparks to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and to do that, the team will need to perform extended maintenance, which is estimated to last for 72 hours. These things can be unpredictable so don't be surprised if the maintenance ends up lasting longer, or even gets completed ahead of schedule.

The reason for migration to AWS is that GameSparks is wrapping up so Neocore doesn't really have a choice in the matter. Had the game offered an offline mode, it would be a different story altogether, with people being able to enjoy laying waste on the enemies of the Imperium without an active internet connection.

Furthermore, a stress test will be organised towards the end of July 2022, in order to check whether the backend is in order and if it will be able to handle the load once the game goes up again.
