It looks like Ubisoft's next game will be free to play battle royale, set in a futuristic virtual world. Apparently, the announcement is imminent while the release date is set for July 12, when Ubisoft Forward takes place.

According to the latest reports over at Twitter, Ubisoft will today tease their brand new game code-named Prisma Dimensions. This game is apparently their brand new AAA multiplayer project that has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the creators of Rainbow Six Siege and Assassin's Creed.

The game is set in a futuristic virtual world, it's a fast-paced FPS battle royale and should be titled Hyper Scape with a full reveal coming pretty soon, potentially this week.

As expected, it will be coming to both PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One but it seems that consoles launch will be coming later this year since Ubisoft plan to implement crossplay between the two platforms. No word on crossplay between consoles and PC at the time of writing.

Additionally, the report states that the game will have a closed beta next week with open beta and full launch set for July 12, 2020, when Ubisoft Forward takes place. You can check out the gameplay screenshot above and the logo for the game in the tweet below.

Whether Ubisoft succeeds with Hyper Scape in the oversaturated battle royale market it remains to be seen but the announcement certainly does not come as a surprise since world's biggest game publishers like Activision and EA have seen major success with their free to play titles Call of Duty: Warzone and Apex Legends, respectively.
