Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed that Massive Entertainment will still work on The Division franchise despite being busy with two major project - Avatar and the newly announced Star Wars.
Yesterday, Ubisoft held their latest earnings call where they revealed a couple of new details about their upcoming games but also hinted at plans for some existing franchises such as Massive Entertainment's The Division.
As you may know, Ubisoft are yet to talk about the third game in the franchise and many fans are concerned that the publisher may not release another instalment which would mean they are sticking to releasing more content for The Division 2.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has mentioned the franchise in the earnings call, confirming that Massive will continue working on the franchise, even though they are busy with two major titles - Avatar and the newly announced Star Wars project.
When asked what exactly the future holds for The Division series, Guillemot responded that players can expect to see more The Division this year and in 2022. "The Massive studio is a large studio, and they are also collaborating with lots of studios all over the world ... You're going to see more on The Division in this year and the year after," he said.
Of course, this does not mean that the third game in the franchise is in development right now but Guillemot's words will certainly encourage those who would love to see The Division 3 become reality. It's also possible that Guillemot is talking about some brand new content for The Division 2, so don't get your hopes up just yet, not until we get more info on a potential third game.
