The next State of Play could heavily focus on the upcoming action-adventure God of War Ragnarok.

There's a high chance we get a God of War: Ragnarok release date by the end of the month if the rumours from industry insiders are correct. Apparently, Sony plan to finally give us an update on the release date , which still should be 2022 despite some rumours suggesting another delay to 2023.

On top of this announcement, Sony are rumoured to be preparing a hardware reveal, which could be a brand new DualSense controller. This one is also set for a reveal next week.

So, what's the best place for such big reveals? It's certainly State of Play, which is why we're confident that Sony are set to announce the date and time of the next State of Play very soon.

The show could include God of War: Ragnarok gameplay and release date and a first look at the new controller, which would be more than enough to keep the hype train at full speeds ahead of a bigger games showcase later this year.

Though it remains to be seen if these rumours are indeed legit but given that we're really close to July, it shouldn't be long before we find out if Sony have anything in store for the June State of Play.
