The Finals had a very successful open beta test over the last few weeks, reaching over 7.5 million players across all platforms including PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The developer Embark Studios of this brand-new multiplayer shooter announced the news today, thanking everyone for participating and confirming that they are now back to fixing the issues that players discovered in the beta and working on suggested improvements.
Sadly, Embark Studios did not state when to expect another beta. The Finals still does not have a release date either but given that the devs just hosted an open beta test, we assume the game could launch in the coming months.
The Finals beta kicked off on October 26 across on all platforms and officially ended yesterday, November 5, 2023. The impressions and feedback from players are quite positive as many enjoyed the game's verticality, incredible destruction systems and fast-paced gameplay.
Obviously, there are some issues to iron out and Embark are already working on that. If the launch goes smoothly and without any major drawbacks, The Finals could become one of the most popular shooters on the market, since it's free-to-play and everyone will get to try it.
In case you are not familiar with The Finals' creators Embark, they are a Sweden-based studio founded by ex-Battlefield developers. In addition to The Finals, Embark also have another major shooter in the works called Arc Raiders. Embark was officially acquired by Korean publisher Nexon in 2019.
