Ubisoft have had their weekly State of the Game update for Tom Clancy's The Division 2 and they announced that The Episode 1 update is coming out on 23 July 2019, bringing with it a ton of new content, tweaks, changes and additions.
So, come next Tuesday, The Division 2's Year 1 Pass holders will be getting two brand new main missions, two classified assignments, as well as the first investigations area of the Expeditions.
Note that the Central Aquarium and NSA Site B13, the two classified assignments, are exclusive to Year 1 pass owners.
The Division 2 is getting a major overhaul of the Skills system with Episode 1. Ubisoft will be applying the overhaul together with balance updates and the Discovery difficulty level on 23 July.
Base of Operations is looking at a rework too, and Ubi wrote, "For easier access, some services have been added to the helipad at the BOO in Episode 1. You can now find your stash, crafting bench, recalibration and matchmaking there. The old stations inside the BOO are still available, in case you don't like being outside in the sun."
Among the issues being looked at by Ubisoft are the Revive Hive, for which they're promising an update soon, and some quirks around Specialization Ammo.
Ubisoft explained the Shepherd system, saying it's "designed to encourage players to support each other and reward them for lending a helping hand."
Raising your Shepherd level is done via endorsements from players, so it pays to give The Division 2 players a hand. However, Ubisoft ensured you don't just hop in and out and included the Assistance Bar, which fills up as you and your damsel in distress earn XP together.
Once the timer under the SHD tab on the mega map resets, those who raised their Shepherd levels will be rewarded.
Should you prove to help enough The Division 2 comrades, you'll get an icon that shows you're a Shepherd. "Go help other agents and be excellent to each other", they said.
