Capcom revealed pretty much everything we could expect so far for the upcoming Season 5 of Street Fighter V, including new characters, a map and release date.
Street Fighter V Season 5 will kick off on February 22, 2021. It will bring a ton of new things for the players to enjoy, such as three characters that were already revealed, a variation on an existing map and the V-Shift mehcanic.
In the case of the new fighters, they are Dan Hibiki, Rose and Eleven. Dan, as you may well know by now, is a parody of Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia from the Art of Fighting series. Capcom are taking it one step further by giving Dan a mask that strongly resembles the one worn by the final opponent in the first AoF.
Rose is coming back as well but she will be released at a later point as the character has not been completed yet. She is currently missing shaders but her move set seems to have been finished, including the new anti-air Soul Bind.
Eleven is a new character in appearance and effects only but it's really a fancy new way of letting the game pick a random fighter for you. The character will then morph to appear like them and take their voice lines which will be altered by a filter.
Meanwhile, the new V-Shift mechanic is a defensive move that will let players get out of tough situations such as being cornered or under an enemy combo but it will cost on V-Bar.
The last part is the new altered version of the Grid stage which should help the players train up some more before the actually new map, Marina of Fortune, arrives.
