Starfield officially launches on September 6, 2023, but there is an early access upgrade that allows you to play the game tomorrow - September 1. The early access benefit is exclusive to those who own the Premium or Deluxe edition of the game or have purchased the Premium Edition upgrade on Xbox consoles or the Xbox app on PC.
But there are many players who are wondering if they can play even earlier, thanks to the good old New Zealand time zone trick that can be done on the Xbox consoles and PC.
Basically, some games launch at 12:00 AM so those who live in New Zealand can start playing before everyone else as New Zealand is the furthest ahead in terms of time zone. All you have to do is set your region to New Zealand on Xbox consoles and you're good to go.
Starfield New Zealand trick explained
So, can this trick be used in Starfield? Can you get to play the game even earlier? The answer is no. You cannot use the New Zealand region trick to play Starfield earlier since the global release time is the same around the world.
Bethesda already shared the map of the global release times, which confirms that the release will be simultaneous across the world so all players get to jump in at the same time.
Regardless of your location, you will have to wait for the release time, as every other player, which is probably the best way to release such a big title. We don't want players spoiling stuff for those who are waiting to jump in.
