Massive Entertainment's action-adventure Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch later this year with a full suite of Nvidia features including ray-traced global illumination, DLSS 3 and Reflex.

PC players today got some very exciting news about one of the biggest releases of 2024 - Star Wars Outlaws. When Massive Entertainment's action adventure finally launches sometime in several months, it will feature a full package of features including RTX ray-tracing, upscaler DLSS 3 and Reflex to reduce latency.

Nvidia and Ubisoft confirmed the news in a blog post on Nvidia's official website, stating that the two companies collaborated to "deliver a definitive PC experience for Star Wars Outlaws players."

Nvidia also released a short trailer to showcase Star Wars Outlaws visuals but this appears to be old footage from the gameplay reveal last year so we doubt all these fancy RTX features are in action here.

The game will utilise both DLSS 3 and DLSS Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards as well as DLSS Super Resolution across all other RTX GPUs.

As for ray-tracing features Star Wars: Outlaws will launch with Nvidia RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI) and ray-traced Global Illumination lighting, which will certainly require quite the graphics card (think at least RTX 4080).

Nvidia say that RTXDI will figure out the most important light samples in Star Wars: Outlaws to cast physically accurate ray-traced shadows, resulting in a more realistic scene.

And lastly, Nvidia Reflex is also included to lower system latency and improve the overall responsiveness of gameplay.
