Ubisoft have provided more details about the expected release dates for their highly-anticipated action adventures Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Codename Red.
During their investor call, Ubisoft execs revealed that Massive Entertainment's sci-fi title should launch at some point later this year. If we had to guess, we'd say this one is probably a lock for the Holidays 2024.
As for Assassin's Creed Red, which is set in Japan, Ubisoft don't seem to have a release window just yet. The publisher said they expect the game to be released before April 2025, which is not very specific.
Recent rumours suggested that Assassin's Creed Red was internally targeting the H2 2024 release window and that Ubisoft plan to showcase the game in May. It's safe to say that after the recent comments from the publisher, this rumour doesn't seem that credible anymore but May is just around the corner so we'll know soon enough whether there was any truth in there or not.
To us, it does seem like Star Wars Outlaws will be Ubisoft's big release for the second part of this year while Assassin's Creed Red could kick off the 2025 with a Spring release.
Obviously, delays are still a frequent occurrence within the game industry so don't be surprised if one of these, or even both get pushed a couple of months further, just to get a bit of that extra time necessary to hit the level of polish and optimisation that players expect these days from AAA titles.
Both Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Red are coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and will probably be part of Ubisoft's subscription service Ubisoft+.
In addition to Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin's Creed Red, Ubisoft also have other titles in the pipeline, including a brand new Ghost Recon game which could be set in Central Asia and is reportedly targeting 2025 release window.
