A brand new update for Star Wars Outlaws is now live across all platforms. The patch weighs in at 3.80 GB on PlayStation 5, 4.71 GB on Xbox Series X|S and 5.60 GB on PC platform.
Some of the most notable changes that this update brings include camera improvements when players are using the speeder. The camera should be more responsive, resulting in a better experience. The speeder's collision with the environment has also been reduced so players shouldn't be knocked off the vehicle as easily as before.
The patch also improves stealth by tweaking AI and camera detection, the positioning of NPCs and the paths of the patrols. Hopefully, this means a much better stealth experience across the entire game as the launch version I've reviewed had some pretty abysmal forced stealth sections.
Here are some notable changes in Star Wars Outlaws' latest update:
- Tweaked the overall stealth experience by adjusting AI detection, the number of NPCs and their positioning, patrol pathing, camera detection and highlighting environmental opportunities to reduce player friction
- Fixed an issue where players would get stuck in the hyperjump sequence towards Kijimi
- Fixed an issue where the 'Takeoff' button prompt wouldn't be shown after 'The Wreck' mission
- Improved the position of the speeder camera when the FOV was increased
- Improved the speeder's response and reaction when called
- Improved speeder collision with the environment to reduce being knocked off the speeder
- Kerro's Speakeasy - fixed an issue where the energy barrier was not disabled after successfully slicing the panel on Mirogana
- Fixed an issue where players could not interact with the triangulation stone in Jet Kordo's quest line on Toshara, and where the holotracker would not spawn in the Trailblazer
It's always good to see that a developer are devoted to fixing their game after launch but it's really a shame that Star Wars Outlaws launched with so many issues. This is reportedly one of the reasons why Ubisoft decided to delay the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows to early 2025.
Star Wars Outlaws is available now on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
