According to the latest info from ResetEra forum, Square Enix's upcoming Avengers game will be a third person action adventure with modern combat design based on the industry trends. The post also mentions melee combat and cover shooting.
With Avengers: Endgame smashing the box office records for the last few weeks it wouldn't be surprising if we got a word or two about the Avengers game that is currently in the works by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix.
Ever since we got the first announcement trailer, the details about the game are almost non-existent, and with hype levels going through the roof at the moment, leaks and rumours about the game and its features are starting to surface over the Internet.
According to a since-deleted post on ResetEra forum, where a supposed job listing was shared, The Avengers game will be a third-person action adventure game that includes "modern combat design" based on "industry trends".
Furthermore, the post claims that the game would include melee combat, which is kinda expected, cover shooting mechanics, a couple of stealth sections and of course, big boss fights. Nothing out of the order here really and every one of these features is completely expected for a superhero game such as Avengers.
However, as much as these details look legit, we have to say to take them with a grain of salt just like any other rumour or leak out there. As of now, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamic did not share any details about the in-game mechanics, combat or other features.
One thing that we can confirm though is that more details about the Avengers game will be shared on this year's E3 expo. Possibly a new trailer or even a full reveal with gameplay footage would certainly be nice.
Whatever happens on E3 2019, the Avengers game is still a long way from the release date, as some earlier rumours suggested that Square Enix plan to release the game on next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles, which means that we could expect the game sometime in mid or late 2020.
