As much as we've loved Sony's game showcases, they've really cooked up a pot of confusion with Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Spider-Man PS5 Remastered.
Sony ended up clarifying the confusion over Spider-Man: Miles Morales storyline and content, but now they had to do so for the Spider-Man: Remastered.
Let us rip off the band aid right now - there are no plans for a standalone edition of Spider-Man: Remastered. The easiest route to get to play it is getting a PlayStation 5 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition.
"Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered is an enhanced version of Marvel’s Spider-Man, and is included as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 5. In addition, players who purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4 can upgrade at no additional cost to the PS5 version of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and can take advantage of a paid-upgrade to download Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered", the company wrote.
We don't blame you if you got confused - we know we did - so let us unpack that for you real quick.
The other way to get Spider-Man: Remastered is if you buy Spider-Man: Miles Morales for PS4 and then use the free-upgrade offer from Sony to bump you up to the PS5 version. The "paid-upgrade" part means you have to fork out another $20 to get access to the Remastered edition.
So there you have it, if you were hoping things were simple in Spidey-land, they're not. Which is not at all much different from how the comic's continuity works, but that's another story altogether.
