God of War Ragnarök will get the New Game Plus mode in Spring 2023, Sony have officially confirmed.
Santa Monica Studio confirmed on their official Twitter account yesterday that God of War: Ragnarök will be getting New Game Plus in spring 2023. This feature has been missing in God of War: Ragnarök since the game's release in November 2022, and no one knew if New Game Plus would be included in the game or not.
In response to the fans' concerns, Santa Monica Studio posted the following tweet :
We know many of you have been asking, so we’re happy to confirm that New Game Plus will be coming to God of War Ragnarok in spring 2023! We’ll share more details once we get closer to the release!
Fans are very excited about the news, as seen by the comments section of the tweet, while some object to NG+ being released so late. One user tweeted: "I don't understand why NG+ comes out six months after the game releases. I'm playing your game right now; I'm engaged in your game right now, not six months from now when I'm playing something else."
Up until now, most Sony games have received this mode much later than the initial release. That was the case with God of War 2018, two Horizon games, and Marvel's Spider-Man . In addition to this mode, Sony usually add some new features later in their games, like photo mode and ultimate difficulties. We will see if the NG+ mode for God of War: Ragnarök comes with some additional features or even new trophies once it is released in spring 2023.
New Game Plus is a mode that allows the players to transfer their progression, like skills and weapons, from the previous playthrough to the new one. This mode adds an entirely new dimension to the new game and allows the player to experience it in a completely new way.
