It's no secret that Spider-Man is having the time of his life and he even managed to break a Guinness World Record for most people dressed as Spidey in one place. Shadow of the Tomb Raider and NBA 2K19 came in second and third respectively.

Spider-Man's record-breaking exploits took place at this year's Stockholm Comic Con, where Marvel and Sony made sure that 547 Spider-Men put 9gag's mainstay meme to shame.

As for the gaming part of his career, Spider-Man's second week in first place saw a 42 per cent drop in sales, which is actually a great result, even more so for boxed sales of a single-platform game, i.e. PS4 exclusive. Apparently, it's hot on the heels of God of War, which would be an even more impressive result.

Even though it's doing 25 per cent better than Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider's first week sales are said to be lagging behind 2013's Tomb Raider by as much as 70 per cent. Note however that the math behind this is subject to numerous variables that render any comparisons of questionable validity, at best. Namely, comparing analog sales in 2018 to those in 2013 isn't very scientific and Rise of the Tomb Raider was a timed Xbox exclusive after all.

NBA 2K19 comes in third place with roughly the same sales compared to 2K18, but Spider-Man and Lara Croft made sure it ranked one place lower than 2K18's second. Our resident hoopster SubReal has had his mitts on 2K Sports' latest edition, dubbing it basketball game up to date.

Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy's eight week stay on top seems to have turned Crash into a mainstay on the physical sales chart. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, GTA V, Lego The Incredibles and Super Mario Odyssey already are.

F1 2019 drops from fourth place to seventh, although it's still a pretty impressive result. Talk about impressive though, The Elder Scrolls Online comes back among the top 10, although it's said to be due to hefty price cuts.
