Sony's Days of Play promotion has worked wonders for the company's catalogue last week, with almost half the chart reserved for PlayStation 4 titles. However, the promotion also helped EA and FIFA 19, with the latter taking first place.
Anyway, FIFA 19 reported 18 per cent weekly sales increase compared to the week before, and it's said that this too has a lot to do with Sony's Days of Play. Well, we're sure EA won't mind.
Days Gone benefited from Days of Play too, moving up from fourth to second place thanks to a 39 per cent sales increase. We're fairly confident that revised reviews had a lot to do with it though, as many reviewers found that SIE Bend's game really hits its stride in later stages.
Marvel's Spider-Man returns to the top 10 after a while, and the web slinger more than doubled its weekly performance, reporting a 57 per cent increase.
Grand Theft Auto V also jumped up two spots while Team Sonic Racing took a tumble from third to seventh place, and we're not sure Sega are as delighted about Days of Play as Sony are.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mortal Kombat 11 came in eighth and ninth place, followed by the return of another VR title to the top 10 - PlayStation VR Worlds. We're talking about the same developer that made Blood & Truth PS4 VR, so good on them.
As usual, we're talking about physical sales in the age of digital ones, so treat these more as indicators of popularity, rather than absolute truth. The chart looks like this:
- FIFA 19
- Days Gone
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Blood & Truth PS4 VR
- GTA V
- Team Sonic Racing
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Mortal Kombat 11
- PlayStation VR Worlds
