Soulframe is a new free-to-play MMORPG from Digital Extremes the studio behind online sci-fi ARPG Warframe. The game will be playable on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms. The release date is currently unknown.
Soulframe will take place on the island of Midrath, which is divided between the forces of nature and the magical organization Oda. The player takes on the role of ex-soldier Oda who is trying to connect with the spirits of his ancestors.
By making a pact with the spirits, the character gains new powers that help him fight against enemies. Skills will be divided into Courage, Spirit and Grace, depending on whether you want to play a fighter, mage or rogue class.
The creators of the successful Warframe have been working on a new project called Soulframe for more than three years. A lot of you have seen Soulframe in action several times, and at this year's TennoCon 2024 they presented it again in an 18-minute long demonstration.
The devs showed the atypical process of creating a character, or at least a part of it, and then a mission in which the players have the task of killing an apparently indestructible opponent.
The mission involves freeing and guiding one mouse to the witch while avoiding said opponent. When the mouse-bringing witch gives us the clearing item, then the battle begins with the opponent who is then in a vulnerable state.
The mechanics of bringing the bird back to life were also demonstrated, by guiding the bird to the place of death. At the end, the possibilities of arranging the character and its equipment are shown.
