Korean publisher Kakao Games have today announced a closed beta test for their upcoming dark fantasy open-world MMORPG called Chrono Odyssey. The beta will kick off next month (June 2025), and players can sign up right now via Steam for a chance to test the game.
Kakao Games stated that this first playtest marks a major step towards the game's full launch on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime in the future. No specific date has been provided by the studio.
In terms of the content that players will get to try out in the closed beta, the publisher promise three of the game's six classes including Swordsman, Ranger and Berserker, each with unique skill trees and playstyles.
Furthermore, a curated section of the world will be available with early-story quests, one explorable region and more.
If you're unfamiliar with the game, Chrono Odysssey is built in Unreal Engine and features dynamic weather, day-night cycles and unique world and terrain changes.
It's certainly a looker, so if you're into gorgeous MMOs, this one should be on your radar. Hopefully, the gameplay, progression, content and build variety are top notch too, as that's just some of the things that keep players engaged in these kinds of games.
