IO Interactive have announced that six locations from the previous instalment of the hit franchise will be arriving as Hitman Legacy Pack DLC to Hitman 2. If you own the earlier game, there's good news - the DLC package will be free.
Unfortunately, IO and Warner Bros still haven't released the pricing of the Hitman Legacy Pack DLC for those who don't own the earlier game. Knowing Warner Bros' financially depraved habits, I wouldn't expect it to be cheap but I'd love to be proven wrong.
As for the maps, we're looking at Hokkaido, Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok and Colorado. IO says that the maps have been polished and updated to slot into Hitman 2 without trouble, so it''ll be interesting to see how they look in the new game.
The developer rolled out a new trailer as well. Dubbed "The World of Assassination", the trailer basically counts down the features you can expect once Agent 47 returns to his bloody ways in November 2018.
As you'd expect, IO Interactive claim that Hitman 2 is their most ambitious project yet, in more ways than one. Superior graphics, improved AI, combat features, gameplay items, new game modes - Hitman 2 promises to make Agent 47 look and feel better than ever.
Players will have flashbangs at their disposal and sneaking among the crowd will help Agent 47 blend in better. Speaking of sneaking, which after all has been one of the staples of the Hitman franchise, the trailer says you'll be able to "sneak up on your prey in new ways". Further adding to the stealth factor is the dart gun and IO even warns of staying around mirrors, as they'll apparently be able to give away your position.
The developer says Hitman 2 will be consistently adding new missions, modes and maps to the community, so as to ensure longevity for the title in a way that normal companies do. Yeah, normal, as opposed to Warner Bros' practice on devolving one of the best stealth franchises around into an episodic mishmash that has Agent Warner stealth sneaking into your wallet.
