Rumour has it, Sony are currently in acquisition talks with Demon's Souls Remake developers Bluepoint Games. The deal should be announced early next year.

The rumour was started by a ResetEra member MarsipanRumpan , who claims that his sources are familiar with the development team Bluepoint Games. Apparently, the deal is being finalised between Sony and Bluepoint right now and interestingly, Demon's Souls remake was a final test that Bluepoint managed to pass, judging by the positive reactions from players and the media.

Additionally, the rumour state that Sony are impressed by Bluepoint's work ethic so they decided to start the acquisition talks with the studio. If the deal happens, Bluepoint Games would work on a brand new IP since they don't want to be labelled as a remake studio.

Sony, on the other hand, hope that Bluepoint can help other teams with remakes. For example, if Team Asobi decide to develop an Ape Escape Remake, Bluepoint would be the studio to jump in and show how it's done.

If everything goes as planned, the deal could be announced early next year. "The deal is being finalized and should be announced shortly, the time period I've been given is that it'll happen before February 28,"  the leaker wrote.

While this does seem realistic given the relationship between the two, we suggest you take it with a dose of scepticism, like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info. Of course, it would not be the first time that such leak is indeed correct but don't get your hopes up just yet, at least until we get a confirmation from a more solid source.
