According to the latest hints from several reliable insiders, Team Ninja could revive their Ninja Gaiden franchise and release a new game as an exclusive for Xbox Series X platform.

Last week, Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox mentioned how Xbox needs to regain the trust of the Japanese developers and how he is proud of the Japanese games that will be shown at this week's Xbox Games Showcase.

As expected, many players assumed that From Software will finally reveal gameplay of Elden Ring or that more Persona ports are coming to Xbox but according to the latest hints from several insiders, Ninja Gaiden franchise could make a spectacular return as an Xbox exclusive.

Now, before we dive into the details, please be aware that this is not official information so a good dose of scepticism is desirable.

The first tease comes from the co-host for Digital Invaders podcast, who is also a leaker of the PlayStation 5 devkit. Here's the tweet which does not say much but it definitely adds fuel to the fire:

Furthermore, in the latest XboxEra Podcast Xbox insider Shpeshal Ed teased the fans saying that some incredibly exciting news are coming soon. He specifically said, "something is not dead". However, he clarified his statement later on by saying that he has no reason to believe the game will be shown this week. "As far as I know it’s something much further down the line," he said.

It is worth mentioning that Team Ninja acknowledged that fans want another Ninja Gaiden games. Back in February 2020,  Nioh 2’s director Fumihiko Yasuda said:

"The core members of the team that worked on Ninja Gaiden want to make a new game. We are aware that some fans wanted Ninja Gaiden more than Nioh 2. Now we see a lot of ninja games like [Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice] as well, and we see a lot of good inspirations in those games, so we hope to deliver some good news one day."

So there you have it folks, if Microsoft indeed managed to secure another Ninja Gaiden game as an exclusive for Xbox Series X, then we probably will not see it anytime soon. Still, this is great news for all Xbox and Ninja Gaiden fans who have been craving for more action ever since the last Team Ninja's Ninja Gaiden game in 2012.

Thanks, Reddit.
