Insomniac Games might be hard at work developing a new Ratchet & Clank game for the upcoming PlayStation 5. The rumour got started when a video game podcaster Colin Moriarty recently made some comments during one of his podcasts.
The game series' developer Insomniac Games was recently bought up by Sony. The two companies have previously shared a long and fruitful collaborative relationship while the dev company worked on the Ratchet & Clank franchise, as well as the latest Spider-Man game for PlayStation 4.
Video game podcaster Colin Moriarty has recently let slip the rumour: "We're going to get a Ratchet & Clank in-between [Spider-Man PS4 and its sequel] on PlayStation 5," Moriarty said on his podcast - as reported by .
"I feel like that's going to be a launch game, the Ratchet & Clank game that's long been in development at Insomniac."
The platformer/shooter series got their start on PlayStation 2 way back in 2002 and the latest title in the franchise was a 2016 remake of the original. The game also tied into an animated movie which starred James Arnold Taylor, David Kaye, Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Bella Thorn, Rosario Dawson and Sylvester Stallone.
If this latest rumour was to be confirmed, Insomniac Games would go back to its roots and, this time, make a title for PlayStation 5 as an official part of the Sony family. No other leaks except for Moriarty's comments have come out but we can see how the new Ratchet & Clank game could be a PlayStation 5 launch title.
Naturally, Sony has yet to comment on the recent development. The company hasn't announced any of the games set for the PS5 launch period but the highly-anticipated was recently delayed into the upcoming console's launch window.
