In their time, Sony and Team Asobi have shared some juicy information regarding the free Astro Bot DLC, considered one of the crown jewels in their platformers.
At the most recent State of Play announcement, it was revealed that new content would await players this fall completely free in the upcoming Astro Bot DLC.
Titled "Speedrun and Special Bots," the DLC will add in five new online speedrun levels, joining the game for the first time as a central part of the title. Within them, players will have the ability to compete against associates and gamers worldwide by comparing their times on a global leaderboard, adding further competitiveness to the already entertaining and addictive platforming mechanics.
Besides, ten more bots will be included in the rescuing pool in this update. Some of the new bots have come from popular PlayStation franchises, and so far, Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade are confirmed to make the cut.
While Team Asobi hasn't revealed literally every one of the new bots, they do hint at several more surprise guests when the DLC launches. Interesting to note, Stellar Blade was teased in the post-credits of Astro Bot's base game and didn't feature into its initial release.
This led to further speculation that other titles, such as Rise of the Ronin and Assassin's Creed, could pop up in such DLCs, too. Astro Bot fans have quite a bit to get excited about this fall.
New time-trial levels with special guest bots merely set the player up for fresh excitement in this platformer, giving new reason to dive back into the game and test one's skills.
