PlayStation 5 devkit UI looks a lot like the one we have seen in PlayStation 4, which is not surprising since the UI design is usually the last part of the puzzle.
Over the last couple of months, many leaks and rumours about Sony's upcoming next-gen console have been surfacing all over the social media and various forums. We've seen several designs of the console and got a list of games that Sony reportedly plan to show on the reveal event in February 2020.
Today, we have a brand new leak, which originally appeared on 4chan. Apparently, it is a screenshot of the PlayStation 5 devkit UI design. "I am working at some game studio that already has PS5 devkits, guess it is the first picture of PS5 UI (at least as it looks now) on the internet," the anonymous user wrote in the post.
As you can see below, the UI is basically the same like the one we have on PlayStation 4 at the moment, which is not surprising at all since UI design is probably one of the last things Sony will re-design if they decide to change it at all.
The developers are probably busy with other features at the moment and also, it makes sense that the game studios are using the old UI since it's functional and pretty much finished at the moment. We also do not know when exactly the photo has been taken. The UI could be from the very first version of the devkit.
Anyway, the rumoured PlayStation 5 reveal event is just around the corner and it's possible that Sony give us a first glimpse of the new UI during the event. Until then, take this latest leak with a huge grain of salt, just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info.
