CD Projekt Red aim to deliver a proper RPG experience with Cyberpunk 2077 and in order to do so, the studio is working on various features to offer players many choices and options in their playthrough.
If you played CD Projekt Red's previous major title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, you probably know that its story had many branching paths, endings and romance options.
In Cyberpunk 2077, players will also be able to romance a bunch of characters but those who hoped that Keanu Reeves would be one of the options will be disappointed to hear that Johnny Silverhand won't be available.
This has been confirmed by CD Projekt Red level designer Max Pears in his latest interview with VGC. Pears said that while Keanu Reeves will have a huge part to play in the game's story, players won't be able to start a romantic relationship with him.
"Keanu plays a crucial role in the game, but as for the option to romance him, I don’t believe you can," Pears said.
To be honest, this was totally expected and it would be really surprising if players had the option to romance Keanu since his character is basically dead and acts as a digital projection, some sort of AI that lives inside players' head.
Some players likely hoped that CD Projekt Red could create an option to romance Keanu, similar to a relationship between K and Joi in Blade Runner 2049 but that, sadly, won't be the case.
