Ladies and gentlemen, it's happening. The first trailer for the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 is finally coming early in December 2023, it's been officially announced today by Rockstar.
In a short statement on social media X, Rockstar stated that it's been 25 long years since they started to make games and thanked everyone who supported them, confirming that a new trailer will be aired soon.
"We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you," it's written in the message from Rockstar boss Sam Hauser.
The statement comes just hours after the report from Bloomberg, which revealed that Rockstar plan to officially announce Grand Theft Auto 6 sometime this week and release the first trailer later in December 2023.
It turns out that the report was indeed correct, the only thing that we're still waiting for is the official announcement, which should include the game's logo and potentially a couple of details about the setting, story and characters.
GTA 6 is likely to be set in a fictionalised version of Miami and could feature two playable protagonists, a male and a female, who are reportedly siblings.
The story will contain themes of the drug trade and cartels. Some rumours suggested that the game could even be set in two timelines.
All in all, it's certainly an exciting time for all gamers as the juggernaut that is the Grand Theft Auto series is finally set to return after all these years.
Keep your eyes peeled on December, especially The Game Awards show.
