Although a more detailed look at Season 2 of Apex Legends is expected on EA Play livestream, Respawn decided to give us a taste of some high-level improvements a bit early, along with a new event next week called The Legendary Hunt.
So, Apex Legends' new event kicks off next Tuesday, 04 June 2019. It will last two weeks and packs a bunch of goodies.
The Legendary Hunt event features the Apex Elite queue, which is basically matchmaking - you rank among the top 5 in any match and you earn yourself a game with other top 5 winners. You lose, and you're back in the regular queue.
Respawn also threw in Legendary Hunt Challenge rewards in the form of rare, epic and legendary skins, Double XP weekend from Friday, 07 June to Monday, 10 June, and you can even earn an entire Battle Pass level once a day if you finish in top 5.
As for the Season 2 improvements to Apex Legends, Respawn said they've received great feedback, and they posted the following TLDR:
- Level up via Daily and Weekly Challenges.
- Time to Battle Pass level 100 should be significantly reduced.
- Three additional Legendary skins added to the rewards track.
- Three entirely new content categories replace badge and stat tracker rewards.
- You'll earn enough Crafting Metal rewards from the full reward track to craft a Legendary item, or whatever your heart desires.
Respawn claim Apex Legends players will definitely notice the faster progression, and will be rewarded with more legendaries.
Badges and basic stat trackers are removed from the premium Battle Pass rewards track.
"You'll still get a seasonal badge, but it'll be a single, evolving badge that won't take up any additional reward slots! We've kept seasonal win trackers in the free path, and they will all be earnable in the first 10 levels", they wrote.
Apex Legends Voice Line rewards will be replaced with Crafting Metal ones, so that players can chase their legendaries easier.
Naturally, expect a ton of new cosmetics, already starting from The Legendary Hunt next week.
