Remnant: From the Ashes has been free for the taking in the past week on Epic Games Store and interested players took the opportunity 10 million times.
Gunfire Games hit the spot with Remnant: From the Ashes as players enjoyed looting and surviving in the sombre worlds of the Root-infested universe. The game's reception testified as much with both critics and players sending positive feedback.
However, not everyone that likes a game has an opportunity to purchase it and with the last week's giveaway on Epic Games Store, they didn't have to. Perfect World and Gunfire Games recently posted the colossal milestone where they noted that the game had been claimed 10 million times during the seven day period.
While the number is impressive, this doesn't necessarily mean there will be 10 million new players swarming into the game. There is the possibility of the same person claiming the game more than once and there are those who claimed the game but are not intending to play it right away, usually as a result of not having enough time on their hands.
That said, there is definitely going to be a surge in the player numbers so if a server hiccup or two happen, don't take it as a bad sign. Furthermore, it will likely go away soon.
Anyway, if you happen to be one of the fans who claimed the game, this means you will have an extremely wide pool of people to match with for various activities which is always a good thing.
