One of the most pleasant surprises in recent gaming history, Remnant: From the Ashes, is getting a free update to PS5 and XSX but also more news about crossplay.
Starting on Thursday, May 13, 2021, Remnant: From the Ashes will get a free update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X which will allow the consoles to have more graphics options for their users.
In case someone chooses to run the game in 4K, they will be limited to 30 FPS though so keep that in mind if you were hoping for some smooth action. On the other hand, both PS5 and XSX will be able to run Remnant: From the Ashes at 60 FPS in 1080p.
Furthermore, the game will start selling on Microsoft Store App and the Xbox App for Windows 10 on the same day. In other words, if you're playing on any device with an operating system from Microsoft, you will be able to grab the game there as well. This also means it's coming to the Xbox Game Pass for PC so if you're not sure about committing to a full purchase, you can check it out through the subscription.
As a cherry on top, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC will all have cross-play support with each other. The official announcement doesn't mention PlayStation platforms anywhere so it's possible Sony are still keeping some walls around their garden.
Keep in mind that the game isn't particularly needy when it comes to PC specs so even if you don't have a console, your fairly old rig might be able to run it. Make sure you check out the hardware requirements though, just in case.
