Gunfire Games are slowly but surely asserting themselves as popular developers in the gaming world. While Darksiders 3 didn't really reach the stars, it carved out a chunk of AA heaven for itself. Remnant: From the Ashes is certainly enjoying somewhat similar but potentially even bigger success.
Following the one million sold copies milestone, Gunfire Games a bit of a DLC roadmap for the game. The first part is the Hardcore update, releasing on 31 October 2019. After the update, players will be given a choice to make their newly created characters Hardcore, which means one death and they are out.
While the permadeath suspense is spooky and fits with the Halloween theme, those are not the only reasons it was added. World Bosses encountered while playing a Hardcore character will drop new rings with powerful effects. These powerful items will be available to all the characters on an account, not only the hardcore ones.
To prevent random wipes with regular characters, Hardcore ones can only team up with other Hardcore characters. Therefore, everyone will know what's at stake and possibly adapt their strategy to avoid permadeath.
Survival will come with the new update that is coming during spring 2020 along with Corsus. The third part of DLC road map is redacted for some reason. Just when we thought that roadmaps serve to reveal future plans, not to obscure them.
