Remnant: From The Ashes has been positively received by players and critics alike and now the game is going to be free to keep on Epic Games Store.
Epic Games Store revealed the next two freebies that will be available in the week of August 13, 2020. As per usual, there are two games that will be up for grabs but Remnant: From the Ashes took all the spotlight here.
The game is described as Dark Souls with guns but others also characterised it as The Division in a different setting. Whether you feel one way or the other, Gunfire Games' title turned out to be a success and there isn't much reason not to grab it for free.
This third-person shooter puts the player in the boots of an adventurer who is out to try and save the remnants of humanity from the parasitic Root creatures. Venturing through various worlds, the player gets to loot and craft interesting weapons that could mean the difference between life and death.
While that's the highlight, it is certainly worth mentioning the other freebie of the week, which will be The Alto Collection, consisting of Alto's Adventure and Alto's Odyssey. They might be ports of mobile games but the art style certainly makes the games visually appealing even on PC. Considering these games were also received well by virtually everyone, make sure to keep an eye on them as well.

At the time of writing, you could pick up 3 Out of 10 Episode 1 and Wilmot's Warehouse. Considering there was roughly a week until the next freebie rotation, if you are reading this, chances are that you will be in time to pick these two games up as well.
