Remnant 2 pushed out another trailer that provided more context on where and when the game is set while offering glimpses of gameplay.
Remnant 2 is a direct sequel to Remnant: From the Ashes and Gunfire Games reiterated that vision with the latest trailer, which introduced us to the current universe setting.
The sequel is set two decades after the events of the first game where the players "dealt a heavy blow" to Root, which is the name of the weird entity that sent all those horrors humanity's way and is the reason the people are barely clinging to the survival of the species.
By the time of the sequel, humanity has managed to partially rebuild and it seems like we are going on the offensive.
The narrator mentions we need to go through the various portals and eventually root out, well, Root. This is because it is assumed that the entity will keep hunting other races, humans included, which is a fair conclusion after the events of the first game.
A few glimpses of new gear arrived with the trailer as well, showcasing the various weaponry and the players' ability to customise it.
Besides that, you can check out a few snaps of various bosses the players will encounter but not much else was revealed.
There is still no actual release date but it seems like the game is on track for the initial release window of Summer 2023.
Additionally, the wording so far suggests that the game will be released simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
