Rainbow Six Siege is starting off its 9th year Season 1 as Operation Deadly Omen. It is set to be released in March with changes to weapons, accessories, and more.

As Operation Deep Freeze is at the end of its journey, fans are already excited for Rainbow Six Siege's year 9 to begin. So Ubisoft revealed some crucial details about the upcoming year during the Six Invitational 2024 tournament.

Titled Operation Deadly Omen this Season brings with it a new operator, new maps, and much more. On top of this, Ubisoft is also implementing anti-cheat measures this season to ensure fair gameplay all around.

Rainbow Six Siege Y9S1 Operation Deadly Omen is set to go live on March 12, 2024, on all supported platforms. However, if you are as impatient and excited as we are, you can play it on the Test Servers from next week.

Here's what fans can expect from Operation Deadly Omen and Season 9:

A New Operator

Operation Deadly Omens brings with it a dark villainous operator, an ex-Rainbow called Deimos. You can learn further details about Deimos here including his signature weapon, load-outs, and more.

Ash's R4C regains ACOG

Yes, that's right. After countless requests from players, the developers are giving Ash's R4C its advanced combat optical gunsight back. But this won't likely feel the same way it did before because the R4C has gone through several recoil nerfs during the recent seasons.

ADS & Attachment changes

Year 9 made massive changes to ADS or Aim-down sights by making them slower. This means players can't just peek in and out instantly.

Other attachment changes include:

  • 1.5x scopes have been removed from the game
  • Angled grips now offer a 20% reload speed increase
  • The laser now gives a 15% ADS speed bonus
  • New attachment: Horizontal grip gives movement speed.

Azami Nerf

Azami's Kiba barriers are now vulnerable to enemy bullets.

New Inventory Management System

Players will now have a much more efficient and organized way to access and store their inventory thanks to the new Locker System.

New Training Options

Players will now have five additional maps for training against AI and four new maps for their Training Grounds playlist.

The AI's logic has been improved and it can now mimic operators like Alibi and Melusi.

Other than these players can expect changes to Light Machine Guns, Ranked Restrictions, revamped Shield mechanics, and much more in Operation Deadly Omen.

All in all, Ubisoft is promising a lot of changes in Rainbow Six Siege's Y9S1 and we are looking forward to seeing how exactly these tweaks pan out when the update launches this March across all platforms.
