Rainbow Six Siege's Season 9 of Pro League is coming up soon, kicking off on 18 May 2019 and all the finalists have already been revealed. Some fans are not happy with their quite popular favourite teams not being included though.
Rainbow Six Siege Pro League Season 9 participants have been revealed. To dismay of many fans, neither Team Liquid nor G2 Esports are among the participating teams. The full roster is as follows:
- Team Empire
- LeStream Esport
- Evil Geniuses
- FaZe Clan
These teams will face off on 18 and 19 May 2019 at Palazzo del Ghiaccio in Milan, Italy. The lack of G2 Esports, previously known as Penta, is a major surprise since the team has been known to dominate throughout Rainbow Six Siege's esports history.
The quarterfinals will see Evil Geniuses and Immortals facing off in the first match, followed by FaZe Clan versus LeStream Esport. Team Empire and DarkZeroGG will duke it out in the third match while Fnatic and Nora-Rengo will conclude the quarterfinals.
Nora-Rengo is one of the most successful Japanese esports organisations in Rainbow Six Siege, who came to prominence following their #4 spot on The Six Invitational back in February 2019.
You can check the full bracket on the Rainbow Six Siege Esports Twitter , along with any updates that occur leading up to the event as well as live coverage from the event itself, once it kicks off.
Total prize pool of the event will be $275,000 and will be distributed among the eight teams, depending on their final placement.
Esports fans will be able to watch the competition on the official Twitch channels and will be able to gain in-game weapon charms, provided they fulfilled the Twitch drops requirements.
In order to be eligible for the Twitch drops, you will need to link your Ubisoft and Twitch accounts and then opt-in for the Twitch drops feature. You can find all the necessary instructions on Ubisoft's website .
