Ubisoft are loving these free promotions lately, and just as their free offer of For Honor is expiring, they announced a free week of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. It kicks off this weekend, 28 August 2019, and lasts until 03 September.
Speaking of For Honor, this is the last week that Ubisoft are offering the for free, which should still an upgrade if you got the game in one of Ubisoft's earlier offers, when they gave away the Starter edition.
We guess that should help pass the time until Rainbow Six Siege goes into its free week on 28 August 2018
Ubisoft said all you need to get familiar with Rainbow Six Siege can be found in three trailers, the first of which you can see above.
Once you're done with that, move onto the Year 4 Celebration trailer and the Make Every Second Count, which should bring you up to speed with what the game is about.
If you're a newcomer to Rainbow Six Siege and are more comfortable with written explanations, then we'll try to make it brief - we're talking about a 2015 online tactical shooter that's sort of like Counter-Strike with an added level of complexity.
The game relies on unique heroes called Operators, each of whom comes with certain perks and specialities.
Rainbow Six Siege is centered around three online modes - hostage, secure area and bomb, and everyone gets time to prepare before rounds - attackers and defenders alike.
As you'd expect, the choice of Rainbow Six Siege's Operators will come down to personal preference and situational awareness. Seeing as how environmental destruction is a big deal in the game, and we are talking about a tactical shooter, there's plenty to git gud at, wink wink.
As we said, the free week for Rainbow Six Siege ends on 03 September 2019, and we guess that the standard rules for these offers apply, i.e. whatever progress you make in-game will carry over should you choose to go ahead and buy it.
