Ubisoft rolled out the Y4S2.1 update to Rainbow Six Siege and fixes the latest IQ glitch, which not only grants her awesome sliding capabilities, it helps her drop into the floor. It's currently only on PC, but consoles will get it soon.
IQ's glitch relies on a combination of claymores, gadgets and drones to get the sliding, after which she can rappel into the floor. It gained in popularity thanks to some YouTube tutorials, but Ubisoft didn't take long to come up with a solution.
"We have been testing a solution to some of the exploits that should address the IQ glitch. With this update in place we have not been able to reproduce this exploit internally. As such, we are pushing a patch today on PC only", they wrote.
As for Rainbow Six Siege's console players, they will have to wait until Thursday, 27 June 2019 for the update, until when IQ won't be available from the operator selection screen.
Ubisoft encouraged anyone who managed to reproduce the exploit to let them know via R6Fix, so they can remove IQ from the operator selection screens on PC as well.
They also said that continue to work on Clash and Deployable Shields exploits and that they'll have more information as they progress.
Rainbow Six Siege is also getting an additional option for controller rotation curves.
"This new version of the curve focuses on the early part when shooting and then offering a steady variation until the full movement. Our goal is to deliver a more consistent curve as players move their joystick further from neutral", they wrote.
Rainbow Six Siege's Y4S2.1 update also adds a ton of bug fixes, among them the one that has IQ lose most her functions if her primary gadget is deployed before the rappel animation has ended.
