Rainbow Six Extraction will launch on January 20, 2022, with two weekly challenge game modes and at least one coming sometime later. The Standard and Deluxe editions are now up for pre-orders.
Ubisoft recently announced that Rainbow Six Extraction (set for release on January 20, 2022) will launch with an evolving endgame. The post-launch content will arrive free of charge.
Rainbow Six Extraction will feature the Maelstrom Protocol, a weekly challenge mode that will have players finding their way through nine subzones, all with increasing difficulty, tougher enemies, more scarce resources and the like.
Those who manage to wade through the nine circles and earn points will secure their place in up to five classes: from Bronze to Silver to Gold, Platinum and Diamond Class. The placement will yield fitting rewards like special headgear and REACT Credits.
Rainbow Six Extraction - game modes
Other challenges include Crisis Events and Assignments.
Crisis Events will be time-limited affairs with themed content and bring a new Operator or a new Protean enemy to the mix. The first event of this nature will be "Spillover" and players will have to wipe out mass colonies of an evolved version of the Sprawl as hordes of Archæans attempt to stop them.
It won't be for nought, however, as these events reward exclusive REACT Tech, new cosmetics, and pieces of lore.
Assignments will bring some gameplay modifiers like the Veteran Mode that will do away with the game's HUD, limit the available ammo and enable friendly fire.
Rainbow Six Extraction will feature Maelstrom Protocol and weekly assignments on launch, with Crisis Events coming up later.
