Rainbow Six Extraction will launch on January 20, 2022, with two weekly challenge game modes and at least one coming sometime later. The Standard and Deluxe editions are now up for pre-orders.

Ubisoft recently announced that Rainbow Six Extraction (set for release on January 20, 2022) will launch with an evolving endgame. The post-launch content will arrive free of charge.

Maelstrom Protocol

Rainbow Six Extraction will feature the Maelstrom Protocol, a weekly challenge mode that will have players finding their way through nine subzones, all with increasing difficulty, tougher enemies, more scarce resources and the like.

Those who manage to wade through the nine circles and earn points will secure their place in up to five classes: from Bronze to Silver to Gold, Platinum and Diamond Class. The placement will yield fitting rewards like special headgear and REACT Credits.

Other challenges include Crisis Events and Assignments

Crisis Events will be time-limited affairs with themed content and bring a new Operator or a new Protean enemy to the mix. The first event of this nature will be "Spillover" and players will have to wipe out mass colonies of an evolved version of the Sprawl as hordes of Archæans attempt to stop them.

It won't be for nought, however, as these events reward exclusive REACT Tech, new cosmetics, and pieces of lore.

Assignments will bring some gameplay modifiers like the Veteran Mode that will do away with the game's HUD, limit the available ammo and enable friendly fire.

Rainbow Six Extraction will feature Maelstrom Protocol and weekly assignments on launch, with Crisis Events coming up later.

Rainbow Six Extraction editions

Rainbow Six Extraction's Standard Edition is now available for pre-order (£33.99 on PC and £44.99 on console). The edition includes free post-launch content, Buddy Pass tokens, an operator progression system, four difficulty levels, 13 mission objectives, 60+ weapons, legacy Rainbow Six Siege tech, 15 exclusive REACT tech, and Maelstrom Protocol.

The Deluxe Edition includes everything from the Standard Edition plus three bonus packs and is now available to pre-order from £41.99 on PC and £49.99 on console.

No matter which edition you end up purchasing, you'll always get two Buddy Pass tokens that allow you to invite friends and play together for up to 14 days. Any progression your buddy makes during the trial will transfer over into the purchased version of the game. All pre-orders will also unlock the Orbital Decay Cosmetic Bundle in Extraction.

Everyone who plays both Rainbow Six Siege and Rainbow Six Extraction will receive the United Front bundle, which contains four gearsets, split between both games, and will instantly unlock Extraction’s entire roster of 18 operators in Siege.
