Quantic Dream's Spellcasters Chronicles enters its second Closed Beta on January 29 at 15:00 UTC, running through February 2 before launching Early Access on February 26, 2026.
Closed Beta 2 expands significantly beyond December's inaugural test. The Nordic Shore arrives as a new five-lane arena featuring open sightlines and harsh environmental conditions. A complete introduction sequence and playable tutorial help newcomers learn mechanics, addressing feedback about onboarding difficulties.
Communication improvements include in-game team text chat and a player reporting system for toxic behaviour. Customization options for Spellcasters and Lifestones debut alongside an early ranking system implementation.
Combat receives substantial additions: six new spells (Fire Rain, Poison Grenade, Ice Infusion, Fire Infusion, Sacrifice, Resurrection), five new summons (Stone Behemoth, Lich, Faery, Steam Tank, Wolven Hunter), and three new buildings (Harpy's Nest, Rampart, Ballista). Additional battle items and extensive balance updates affect Spellcasters, summons, spells, and core rules.
Founder's Packs are available on Steam, granting exclusive cosmetic items plus Closed Beta 2 access. Quantic Dream say the development phase builds on community feedback gathered during the December test, which they aim to implement before the February Early Access launch.
Full patch notes detailing balance changes are available here. Spellcasters Chronicles is in development for PC.
