Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 6 has been confirmed as the main focus of Xbox Developer Direct, with Playground Games revealing the first lengthy look at the game.
Updates on gameplay and setting were accompanied by information on release windows, game editions, and deluxe bonuses. Debuting in Japan, Forza Horizon 6 promises to be the biggest Horizon game yet.
Players can expect large open world maps filled with urban sprawls, mountain passes, seaside roads, and dynamic seasons. Playground emphasized that exploration will be a major focus of the game, with players unlocking more of the map by participating in qualifiers and events.
Forza Horizon 6 Release Date and Platforms
Forza Horizon 6 will be released on 19 May for Xbox Series X|S and PC as announced at Xbox Developer Direct, launching day one on Game Pass with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
It will release for PlayStation 5 later in 2026. Players who purchase Premium Edition will receive early access to Forza Horizon 6 beginning on 15 May. During this time players will be able to explore the open world a few days prior to launch.

Playground Games has stated that Forza Horizon 6 will have large amounts of post-launch support. The two paid expansions will focus on new locales or themes, while Car Pass deliverables will provide vehicles in continued support after launch.
With over 550 cars at launch that span classic and modern Japanese cars, variety will also be catered to for the long haul.
