PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will soon have a new update for PC player to test out, but only for one day. The main additions are vaulting, climbing and the overhauled ballistics system. The MOA of the weapons has also been tweaked.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is getting an update soon. Even though the "current test build is not completely stable as of now" PUBG's dev team decided to open the gates to the test servers this week.
Instead of the planned three days you'll be getting 24 hours to test the latest features: vaulting and climbing. "Please note that you may experience client crashes on the test servers."
For now, the 24 hours is all you'll get out of this deal, but the team will reserve the right to extend the test schedule. They'll make sure to let you know via the official social media channels, if such a thing occurs..
The testing will kick off at 2:00 AM on 14 November and end at 2:00 AM on 15 November. The main additions are vaulting, climbing and the overhauled ballistics system.
Any structure that is under 2.3 meters tall can now be scaled. All objects that are chest level, you'll be able to scale with a weapon in hand. "Taller structures that require pulling up to vault need to be performed with both hands free of any items (they will be holstered automatically when animation is played)" says the announcement.
You can also run toward the object you wish to scale in order to build up the momentum, so when you do jump on it, you do it that much faster. "Performing the action from stationary position is also possible but the animation played will be slower." As for climbing, an opening of any kind that's tall and wide enough will let you squeeze through, no questions asked.
The ballistic overhaul consists of multiple elements. The first is the added bullet drag effect that affects the trajectory curve of a projectile. Essentially, your bullet will lose some of its initial velocity over time. Gravity will also be something worth taking into consideration as the bullets will now drop down as they travel towards someone's head. This effect will only be visible above the range of 300 meters.
The MOA (accuracy) of the weapons has also been tweaked: "While some weapons may experience slight accuracy nerf, others will become more accurate than before."
Zeroing will also be more realistic, in keeping with the changes made to the ballistics: "each weapon will have a unique set of zeroing ranges while using the iron sights. Red dot and holographic sites will allow for zeroing in on short ranges. You will now also be able to adjust the intensity of the reticle (by default using the Mouse Wheel)."
And finally, some changes have been made to the hit areas of the characters. Your helmet now also protects your neck, shooting hands and feet is less effective and the damage will be modified by weapon class.
