PUBG Corp. have released another patch on the test server, adding new items, improvements and features. One of the biggest addition is the Spike Trap which can damage vehicle tires.
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Update 5.2 is now live on test server and it's introducing a fresh batch of additions including Spike Trap, Vikendi improvements and PUBG Labs. As the name suggests Spike Trap is the item that can puncture the tires of any vehicle that runs over the trap. Spike Traps can damage only one vehicle before it disappears and won't damage overall vehicle health.
Spikes are spawned at rates consistent with other throwables across all maps. You can lay a Spike Trap by selecting it and pressing LMB. Once you’ve laid a Spike Trap, you cannot pick it back up.
PUBG Labs is a new system which will allow players to experiment with new in-game features and send feedback to the devs to perfect these as permanent game additions. You can find PUBG Labs in the menu under the Play button. PUBG Corp. promise to update PUBG Labs with new content such as play modes, new rule sets and even some new vistas to take in down the road.
The first bit of content in PUBG Labs is Skill-Based Rating, which is an experimental feature that tracks your skill and assigns you a rating based on your match performances.
Vikendi has been updated to make the map more appealing to snipers. On top of this, more vehicles will be appearing on the map to help players traverse the snowy wastes, just remember to watch out for the Spike Traps.
Furthermore, the Blue Zone on Vikendi has been adjusted so players can set up strategies using more varied routes. The size and speed of early safe zones have increased. The size and speed of mid and late-game Blue Zones remain similar to previous updates.
The patch also brings a lot more tweaks and additions and you can read the full patch notes for more details on these.
