Grinding Gear Games disclosed additional features for the upcoming 0.2.0 update of Path of Exile 2 which will release later this month. The 0.2.0 update brings two new Support Gems to Path of Exile 2, improves visuals and audio effects, and introduces a weapon-locking feature to help players manage their inventory better.
The weapon lock feature gives players the ability to equip identical gear across multiple weapon sets which simplifies their gaming experience.
Players will also gain access to new Atlas Passive Skill Tree options and an additional Ascendancy branch plus extra rewards from the update.
New Support Gems: Battershout and Perfection
The latest update brings new mechanics to the extensive skill system with the addition of Battershout and Perfection support gems.
Battershout
This gem activates when linked Skills destroy armor and produces an explosion which delivers damage worth 50% of the armor destroyed.
This gem's damage output increases by 4% with every 50 Strength added which makes it highly effective for builds that focus on Strength.
Perfection
Perfection rewards players with a stackable damage buff that boosts their attack damage by 5% every time they execute Skills perfectly until reaching a maximum boost of 15%.
Although this gem proves unsatisfactory for late-game builds especially for charged shot skills its effectiveness in actual gameplay situations remains uncertain.
New Quality-of-Life Weapon Lock Feature
Players can now lock their main hand weapon slot, off-hand weapon slot, or both to maintain consistent equipment across different weapon sets.
The new feature eases inventory management while delivering consistent gameplay performance in various combat situations.
Visual and Audio Upgrades
The gaming experience of Path of Exile 2 will be enhanced through visual and audio fidelity improvements to its essential crafting system elements. The developers Grinding Gear Games continue their mission to improve game presentation through this update.
