Almost six years since the release of the award-winning RPG Disco Elysium, which was ZA/UM's debut title too, the UK-based studio have announced their next RPG.
The game is currently titled Project [C4] and there's a very good chance that the name gets changed to something more unique and recognisable later on.
ZA/UM say Project [C4] is an espionage RPG with major psychological elements where players play as an 'Operant' working for a global superpower.
The devs revealed that thematically, Project [C4] is about spy games, allegiances, betrayal but not like the blockbuster James Bond films. Think of it more like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Old Boy.
In terms of gameplay, missions will be clandestine attempts to uncover secrets and gain influence at the risk of death/exposure.
ZA/UM promise tense tense dice rolls and weighty dialogue choices and aim to make players feel "the stench of failure" which will play a big part in gameplay to honor player choice.
You'll also be able to use psychoactive substances to erase, change or alter violent events of the real world, which sounds incredible on paper and hopefully translates great to the game.
There is no release date at the moment, which suggests we won't be playing this one anytime. Hopefully, ZA/UM will start sharing more details about Project [C4] in the coming months.
