Global phenomenon Palword has reached another massive sales milestone, developer Pocketpair revealed this morning. This creature-collecting survival adventure has sold over five million copies in only three days since its launch.
It's a staggering achievement for Palworld that no one could've predicted before the launch. To add another important statistic to the successful launch of Palword, the game had one of the highest concurrent player counts of all time in the history of Steam.
Only a handful of globally popular games like PUBG, Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2 and Lost Ark had more concurrent players than Palworld.
Another thing to keep in mind is the Game Pass launch. Pocketpair very clearly noted that the game sold 5 million copies, which means that players who did not buy the game but played via Game Pass are probably not included in this number.
This means that the actual player count is much higher, potentially closer to seven or eight million. Hopefully, Pocketpair will provide those details in the coming days.
Peak players records on Steam
- PUBG - 3,236,027 (January 2018)
- Counter-Strike 2 - 1,802,853 (May 2023)
- Lost Ark - 1,324,761 (February 2022)
- Dota 2 - 1,291,328 (March 2016)
- Palworld - 1,284,221
But probably the most important thing of all is the reception that Palword got from the players. On Steam, the game has Very Positive reviews with over 93 per cent of players saying that Palword is indeed a good game.
This can only help Palworld attract even more players in the coming days. It will certainly be interesting to watch just how many concurrent players will Palworld have next weekend.
