Palworld, the latest survival game by Pocket Pair, features unique survival mechanics that include creatures called "pals." These creatures bear similarities to Pokémon and assist players in various everyday survival tasks.
Following a tutorial that imparts the basic mechanics of the game, you'll discover that initially, you can tame and enlist three types of pals: Chikipi, Lamball, and Cattiva. Each of these creatures can assist you with both crafting and resource gathering.
Nevertheless, you'll observe that while these pals efficiently break rocks and collect stones and minerals, gathering wood remains your responsibility. Fortunately, there's another type of pal that can assist with this task. To your delight, there's a way to obtain this pal earlier in the game, albeit with a bit of progress. This guide will demonstrate how.
How to enlist pals to gather wood automatically
Upon receiving the task to level your Pal Box during the tutorial, you'll notice that one of the missions involves creating an egg incubator. This crucial step aids in automating the collection of wood. Once you've crafted the egg incubator, it's time to locate the egg that will hatch within it.
Travel westward from your initial spawn point in the game, and you'll come across some nearby ruins. Proceed southwest, descending the slopes cautiously to avoid injury. Eventually, you'll arrive at a slightly larger plain featuring a large glowing rock in the centre and several pals roaming across the area.
Towards the western edge of this plain, you'll spot a striped giant egg. Retrieve this egg and return to your camp. Initiate the hatching process for the egg, and after a minute and a half, acquire a new pal named Eikthyrdeer. When deployed, Eikthyrdeer will promptly approach the nearest tree and begin cutting it with his horns. Other pals will then transport the wood to the chests. Your responsibility is to feed them, eliminating concerns about basic resources, at least within this camp.
