While the ongoing legal issues with Nintendo are yet to be concluded, Japanese game studio Pocketpair has announced plans to bring hit survival game Palworld to mobile.
Whatever the implications of the legal juggernaut, Pocketpair has found a strong development partner for its mobile iteration.
Mobile distribution will be by South Korean publisher Krafton, home of the PUBG franchise. Development will be carried out by PUBG Studios - the team behind the highly successful PUBG Mobile game. This means substantial experience flows in to make the mobile version of Palworld.
Krafton earlier introduced it as a mobile version that will "faithfully reinterpret and implement core elements of fun" from the original Palworld.
While the mobile version of the game isn't a direct clone of the PC and console games, it maintains what the same five-word essence elicits: collecting creatures, building bases, surviving in the wild, etc.
This means players can still expect the core survival mechanics and world-building features that define Palworld, only adapted for a mobile-friendly experience.
A partnership with Krafton and PUBG Studios promises an excellent quality gaming experience on mobile, even if it's a little different from the original.
While more developments in the legal situation with Nintendo will continue to emerge, exactly how it impacts the game's release remains to be delved into.
In any case, the collaboration of Pocketpair with Krafton prepares the stage for Palworld to make an entry with force into the mobile gaming market shortly.
