Contrary to what they're often accused of, Hi-Rez Studios can be quite creative, with quite giggle-worthy results whenever they do. Anyway, the 1.2 update to their co-op shooter Paladins comes with a new skin and a bunch of hero tweaks.
The dev says that "Ameri-Khan isn't wasting any time spreading the good word of Patriotism to all." Paladins or no Paladins, that's quite funny, not least for the fact Hi-Rez Studios hails from Georgia, USA.
Ameri-Khan can be unlocked via world wide chests or bought for 600 crystal directly. Regardless of whether he's your cup of tea though, it should be a blast seeing Ameri-Khan blasted and blasting back in-game too. Note that this is the only literal addition here, because most of the Paladins have received slight, and sometimes not so slight nerfs in the 1.2 update.
Khan, or Ameri-Khan's hold during Overpower now lasts 2 seconds and is affected by crowd control reduction. Cassie's crossbow now takes 1.4 seconds to reload and her Quiver card only increases the ammo count by one, compared to the earlier 1 second reload and 2 ammo count increase.
Maeve's Street Justice now deals 25 instead of 30 per cent bonus damage, with her cards taking a hit as well. Anyone who's ever had the chance to deal with her bothersome prancing around is probably rejoicing now, rightfully so. Persistence, Sixth Sense and Scar Tissue have all had damage reduction nerfed to 4, 5 and 5 per cent, down from earlier 6 per cent. Sixth Sense duration is down from 3 to 2 seconds as well.
Samurai Jack wannabe Zhin has seen his Inferno Blade's initial and secondary hit damage nerfed from 450 to 400. Talus seems to be the only one whose abilities were buffed, albeit marginally as his Blitz Upper has a "slightly increased radius".
As Hi-Rez promised, Paladins will receive more frequent updates, followed by smaller tweak oriented ones such as the 1.2 update, almost a tick-tock strategy of sorts. You can find the , with the honourable mention being Furia's stun bug, with which I've had a very intimate and, ahem, ragey experience lately. I don't want to talk about it.
